Speech & Debate Students Win Big at Vestavia Tournament

Senior Sailor Watson won first place in Prose, sophomore Lee Ginger followed her with second place in the same category, and freshman Anna Heiser captured fourth place, also in Prose. Senior Abby Schoensiegel took first place in the debate category of Big Question.

 

This tournament is part of The National Speech and Debate Association, and 18 schools from Alabama and Mississippi competed in 13 events with a total of 218 competitors. All four competitors from Bayside placed in their events.

 

We are so proud of these students for their strong showing in the first competition of the season, and we look forward to hosting our own tournament in conjunction with St. Luke’s Episcopal School on November 9^th.
