Bayside Students Have Strong Showing in VAAP

Bayside is pleased to announce our winners in this year’s District I Visual Arts Achievement Program sponsored by the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
Art students from Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe, and Washington Counties participated in the competition. Art teachers were invited to submit one piece of artwork per student with a maximum of eight students per school. The competition categories (with one Honorable Mention and one First Place award per category) are Craft, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, New Media, Mixed Media, and Printmaking.

The Visual Arts Achievement Program provides local and state recognition for student achievement in the visual arts. The program is designed to offer encouragement to young artists, showcase their work, and offer opportunities for advanced training beyond high school.

Bayside students had five overall winners and an honorable mention. Students who received First Place recognition will advance to the state level of competition.
