Senior Misty Kate Smith Named Area Winner for Scholar-Athlete Award

According to the Bryant-Jordan Student Athlete Program, the Scholar-Athlete award was developed by the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in conjunction with the Alabama High School Athletic Association to recognize Alabama high school seniors who have achieved a high level of excellence not only athletically but academically as well. In addition to being on two state championship volleyball teams and earning numerous individual volleyball and soccer All-State accolades, Misty Kate is an outstanding student with a 4.28 weighted GPA. She serves as team captain for the basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams and is the senior representative for the Student Government Association. Additionally, she is a member of the National Charity League.
