Seniors Cole Dean and Abby McDonald Named WKRG Scholar Athletes

Abby is an AP Scholar with a 4.18 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. She is a Peer Helper and Key Club member, and she volunteers with the National Charity League. Additionally, she serves as a captain of both the varsity girls basketball team and varsity girls soccer team at Bayside. Abby is a leader with great initiative who consistently steps up when needed. She is a fantastic mentor to younger players and students, and she sets a positive example through her actions and support. She is the daughter of Amy and Matt McDonald.

 

Cole has a 3.2 GPA and has signed with the University of South Alabama as a student-athlete for next year. He is a two-time All-State baseball player and has been recognized as a member of the “Terrific Twelve” (the top 12 players in Baldwin and Mobile Counties). He recently hit for the cycle against Austin High School and also recorded the win on the mound. When he’s not on the baseball diamond or studying, Cole loves to hunt, fish, and hang out with his friends. He is the son of Courtney and Chris Dean.
